Default So I hate my interior.

Sorry in advance if this is in the wrong section, ha.

I have a 2000 GT with cloth interior and driving it every day really makes me realize how freaking old it is on the inside. I already plan on getting my seats re-upholstered in black leather, but in the meantime I really want to deal with my dash.

How interchangeable are 01+ GT interior parts to my car? I have a completely different a/c, radio, setup than the 01+s (see pic, though it's not my car, i just found it on some carbon fiber dealer site). Can I just pop out the dash molding and components and plug them right into my car? What about my radio? I have an old Mach460 and I really want to upgrade to the newer Mach460 6 disc head unit. The dual-deck BS is getting on my nerves.

Also, I have that nasty teal backlighting. How easy is it to change to the green backlighting like you 01+ guys have (not just in the gauge cluster, but the whole dash)? Do I need all new gauges and such?

Sorry for the long and rather meticulous post. Hope someone can help me.

i would think that they would just pop into place...i mean everything else does. idk about the wiring harness though. Since you already have a 460 i think it should be really easy for you.

What about a Mach 1's gauge cluster? Would I have issues with it hooking up if I found one off a wrecked Mach?

The pieces should fit, but the problem I see is the difference in sizes in the two 460's. The newer one is more than twice the size, and the mounting locations might not match up behind the dash. There should be 4 screws holding it into place. I'm pretty sure that's how mine is. I'd imagine that the mounting locations would be different in the two piece design of older models.

I'm pretty sure the cluster is the same for 01 and up. The only difference in the Mach 1 is redline is 1k higher and the numbers look a lot cooler. I don't think it will work for 99-00, though.
