ill be honest iv been wondering the same thing are heads considered a bolt on?

 

im pretty sure heads are considered bolt on...

 

personally i consider bolt ons anything other than h/c/i, f/i or nitrus. so exhaust mods, intake mods, free mods etc. and with the gears usualy you see people say like "i got a 01 gt with full bolt ons, 4.10's and vortech".

 

But if you go by that rule isnt the I in h/c/i the intake?^^

A bolt on is a part that is taken off with very few bolts and hassel then the new product is bolted in its spot and gives you better power gains

Anything done to the motor after these is usually considered modified motor such as intake manifold, heads, cams, forged internals, new block, etc

 

Back in the day bolt on used to mean anything not involving the short block. A supercharger was a bolt on.
