Yeah any off road pipe with SLP is gonna be LOUDDDDDD. You want my opinion? Get a MAC prochamber mid pipe. It sounds perfect with SLP exhaust. rbstang is right though. Even shorties will give you a gain. The headers and heads are the most restrictive part of a stock 2v mustang

shorties are a waste of money.
not really... the headers are a pretty restrictive part on a mustang and if you've done all bolts on and cam work shorty headers would definantly help. you guys have to remember whats legal in your state isnt legal in every state... since your changing from a manifold to headers with runners you should see some gain.
not really man. i picked up a whopping 9RWHP 9RWTQ when i put my LTs on. i alread had a built motor with stage 3 heads & cams and runing 16 pounds of boost. i think headers in general are a waste in terms of price vs performance.

I hate how people say shorty headers are wastes of money. It's amazing the way people think. It's the "go big or go home" mentality. People should learn a little bit before they bash shorty headers.

my friend has a o/r x with lm1s and it is SOOO loud, i think u should have gone with LM2s but anyway i like how the X sounds better then the H. and for the shortys, dont get them! i made the same mistake. figured they were a lil cheaper so why not, then realized they didnt do a damn thing and they dont even change the sound really. get longtubes.

No, not a lot. I made 6 rwhp with shorty headers. The install was 1/8th the hassle of LTs. Like nanaki said he only made 9/9 on a highly modded motor. The stock manifolds are highly restricted. Whether you go with shorty headers or long tube you'll be happy. Shorty headers don't give you as much as long tubes I understand. But for the cost difference, installation differance, starter replacement issues, ground clearance issues, and not to mention the dropping trans to do clutches, throwout bearings, and/or rear main seals will be so much harder because you're going to have to take off the passenger side manifold. Long tubes aren't worth it on a street car. Do you even know the differance between exhaust manifolds and headers? It's all in the runners. If you get shorty headers that take all 4 runners and dump them into 1 collector you'll make decent power, same as long tubes. I can't justify the PITA install, cost, scraping everywhere, and having to remove one of the headers to get to the trans. Shorty headers FTW!
