I don't hate cops. I just think they should be treated the same as everyone else. (janitor, teacher, McDonalds Employee) There are NO Criminals walking free because of mistakes made buy cops; Only people who may or maynot have questionable deviant personalities and behavior traits that where not convicted.

I also would like to take that a step further and ask you for a real answer. If you know how many criminals are walking free? Do you have a number? On the flip side of that how many innocent people are jailed because of mess ups on behalf of the justice departments? How can you choose a number based on ill-concieved facts (or emotions).
It goes both ways, unfortunately. Sadly, the guilty sometimes are acquitted, and then go on to rob perfectly innocent memorabilia dealers in Las Vegas hotel rooms. And, it is a fact that sometimes innocent people are convicted.

Both situations can be blamed on errors by cops, lawyers, and lying witnesses.

lol, have you ever actually looked at the OJ case and all the foul ups? its ridiculous some of the stuff the investigators and evidence technicians did. Bottomline on this whole post though is that its your local/state/federal representatives who make the laws, not the cops, if you dont like contact them.

No...I was only 15-16 (?) during the first OJ trial so except for convincing myself he did it, I didn't research it any. I just knew that it was a mistake to acquit him.

I like this thread; mostly civil and graduating discussions can happen on a forum! "Inocent untill proven guilty" as stated above, is a great way to put it.

OJ's innocent and so is MJ... And, untill they are convicted they will stay innocent, no matter how weird they are.

I have to go back too class so I'll end my posting here about the subject: Cops, janitors, teachers and Mcdonalds employee all serve a purpose. If you are Humble and do your job for the right reasons you're to be tributed. If you do these jobs or any others for the wrong reasons, you should be ashamed.

And with that we'll agree [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

I don't hate cops, nor do I really 'dislike' cops. it's stupid to stereotype like we've already established.

i will however say that ALOT of cops, big city or small community knit pick.

I've been pulled over 3 times.

1st time was a headlight out. Yea... I see headlights out ALL OVER THE place....
2nd, sound ordinance in my '89 Grand Marquis, 2PM on a Saturday afternoon, ...who was I disturbing again?
3rd, sound ordinance in the Mustang,,, just before midnight at a relatively empty intersection driving like normal..

i dont think any of the 3 times ive been pulled over were worth anyones time, especially my own

And the cops probably felt that the stops turned out to be a waste of their time as well. Those were fishing expeditions, a quick peak and smell inside the car, looking for bigger and better things.

I was visiting Bakersfield and one their Finest (Looser) pulls into a parking spot at 7-11, almost hit my car then refuses to move so my girlfriend can get out of the car. I called dispatch, and had them send out the desk Sgt. The cop didn't even hear us talking about it on the radio. He shows up and sees me dressed in nice suit, and I dropped a few choice names and all he can do is apologize for his officers actions. I filed a formal complaint that night. A week later I attended the informal hearing in my own full formal dress blues uniform, (anodized and shiny). The cop had 8 verified complaints of abuse in a year plus his own domestic dispute case with his wife(black eyes/broken collar bone) still pending. I heard later he was going to be fired from the force but resigned just before and went some place else for a job. (The Cop and I where the same age of 25, The desk sgt was in his 50's if that matters at all)

Cops do what they want and have very little support to help keep them in line. I think they need to stiffen up all the rules on cops. It's for their safety also. You give anyone enough room to hang themselves and they may do just that.

Also, I've said it a million times and I'll always say it. Being a cop is no more important than being a janitor. If you're humble your job is a blessing to everyone around you, if you're not then you're just a Dikc.

Edit: Please don't avoid the swear filters. Just let it **** out.
