is it ok for the clutch pedal to have about an inch of freeplay before it becomes stiff as hell? imkind of new to a standard tranny, but have driven them in the past just not enough to know alot about em. any help would be much appreciated

mines sits about 1.5 and higher then the brake pedal

im not saying it sits higher than the other pedal im saying like its just undervery littletension for about an inch then you can feel the stiffness of the pedal after that

yeah mine is like that also.. and it squeeks sometimes and if i just press the pedal about 1/4 of a inch the squeeking goes away...

ehh mine doesnt squeek or anything. i was just wondering if that little greeplay was normal or not, but it seems likes it isnt anything to worry about. thanks for the helps guys

Put your foot under the pedal and pull it towards you, you will hear it start clicking... kinda like a ratchet. Then push it all they way down to the floor.

i think u also have to be in gear when u do that.
