So long as the car is starting/running you have more than enough power to power a game console + small TV.

Is the converter rated to enough power for what your trying to do? It might just be overloading the converter.

Check out the watt rating on the converter, and then see how many watts/amps the things your trying to run require... your probably over the limit.

Man i know this guy with a supercharged Roush stage 2 with an X box and a play station in his car. Plus he has head rest moniters, in dash moniter, and a flip down screen. Plus he's got 2-12" subs and 2- 1000 watt amps! Thats too much! Put that shiit in your Suburban! Its not meant for mustangs! But it was pretty damn cool cruising and watching star wars!

I brought with an X-box and TV on my last long road trip to pass the time when the wife was driving. I ended up having to get a converter rated at 2x the load it said it could handle to prevent it from overloading or overheating. I went with a 750W converter (about $75) and it worked great.

I think the x-box uses much more power than some other systems, too.
