Default Which is safer?

Come spring I am going to be putting a small shot of nitrous on my car, probably a 75 shot. I'm definately going with a wet kit, however I'm not sure whether I should go with a nozzle or plate system. I'm mostly concerned about getting a nitrous back-fire and blowing my manifold through the hood. I definatelywant to run as safe as possibleso a window switch is a must and I'm probably going to get a tune just for the juice.

Also where is a good place to purchase a kit? I really don't want to go over $500 or so.

Anything over 75 wet make sure you have a tune for it. I have friends that swear by 100 dry shot. But it's really the better of two evils. Lean out and boom or puddle and byebye intake. I guess I'd rather have a intake blow than my bottom end. 75 shot should be good either way. I like nozzles more than plates

I have an NX plate kit. I run a 100 shot and I do not have a tune, with NX its not necessary too. I would recommend colder plugs though. Alot of people on here are running the plate kit and are not having any problems with it.

Why is it not necessary for NX?

from what i have seen/heard a plate kit atomizes the fuel/n2o better... also to avoid lean spikes its best to run a stand alone fuel system, i'm saving the extra couple hundred extra dollars going to run a half gallon fuel cell, pump, lines etc, so you don't lean out the motor when you spray your nitrous because your not pulling the fuel off of the rails... also you can run race fuel in the cell so you don't have to retard your timing as much when you spray

I am not sure to be honest. But in the paper work that came with my kit it specifically said that timing did NOT have to be adjusted when using this kit. Now its still a good idea to geat a tune, but you do not HAVE to. Its not going to explode into a ball of flames if you run it with out a tune,[8D] but you will probably be safer and get more out of the nitrous if you have a tune.

just tune it to be safe. i think u can geta zex kit for around 520 then get a window switch a purge and a bottle heater and youll be good. iv gone through about 3 bottles on a tuned 100 shot and have had no problems yet.

Its reads the rpms of the engine and will only allow the nitrous to spray in a "window" of the rpms. So you could set it up to spray from 3500-5500rpms. It helps to prevent overreving.

100 shot NX wet plate system FTW.

Run NGK TR6 plugs. (colder range)
I retarded my timing a few degrees... just to be safe.
