Default Service Engine Light Code: RYAF1CZ???

My car has had service engine light on for a week or so. Car runs smoothand idles fine all the time. The service light remains on. Only some times either when engine could be cold or warm upon start up it back fires and stalls out. But only happenson half my start ups. When it does backfire after two temps to startthe third time it fires fine and car runs well.

I ran my SCT tuner and cleared the code upon start up of enginelight is gone after clearing code. But as soon as I restart code appears again. I cleared the code twice but still pullingRYAF1CZ code ~ what does this mean? How do I fix it?

My car has 49 K

Not a valid OBD code... Your tunning software must be bad. Find an update from SCT. Then try it again.

I just emailed my Tuner and he said you may have to update your software as well... I don't know for sure. I also emailed SCT for you. They are pretty good about returning my emails. I'll let you know what they tell me if you still need help by the time they reply.

The symptoms your listing sounds like the famous P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor circuit fault. Have your alternator checked out. I had a 2002 GT with the same problem for forever, try to start get a slight backfire noise for 2 or 3 trys and then start and run just fine. Some startups though it would crank normally. Trust me, check into it, until then, after being embarressed on several occasions, *filling up with gas, leaving work, downtown lol* I found that if you press the gas while you are starting it, it gives a better chance of completely firing up.

that would be great. I have SCT XCAL 2 tuner. I thought code looked funny to me. I definitely went to the right place and it allowed me to clear DTC codes.

Was it a costly repair providing I have the same issue?
