so your saying if your clutch is worn you'll hear a rubbing noise? is there any other sign on worn out clutches?

my rubbing noise is loud enough that you can hear it 40 feet away on the outside andi can still hear it clearlywith the radio over half way up!! its started to make the rubbing noise in july and hasnt got louder but does it more often. since july i might have put 3000 miles on my stang. and i have never done a burnout. never lanched over 1500 rpm. i really try to take care of my car i really cant afford to beat on it right now. i dont know what the last owner did to it but id say he roasted the tires off the last month or so he had it cause it had brand new set of potenzas on it when i bought it.

My auto 02 GT just started doin this too. Spun both tires perfectly even w/ my old set...I put on some new Falkens, and now I'm a 1 wheel wonder.

Check summitracing for an 8.8" traction lok rebuild kit. I think they go for like 40-50 bucks.

First off you have a Trac-Loc NOT a True Trac, big diff. Your packs are worn out. The Detroit True Trac is one of the best IMO carriers for price and streetability. It's a worm gear that needs no additives and won't wear out like those clutch packs. Burn outs all day long!
