Default Hmm.. serious question here..

Is it safe to run a twin turbo setup (very low safe amount of boost) on a somewhat stock 4.6L motor? I've heard they're weak motors and obviously I don't feel like buying a new one anytime soon, has anyone done this yet?

You'd be fine man. Run 400-450hp for a bit, then crank it up when you can afford a forged shortblock.

Why would you say they are weak motors?

I didn't say it, i've heard it before from a guy that races corvettes/mustangs. But wow that hp kit is really nice but it's expensive as hell, easier to get the parts from ebay and put it together myself or what? I appreciate the help too and i'm looking forward to doing it in the next 3-4 months (got a new job )

honestly unless you are planning on forging your internals, i would just build a vortech kit and run 400 hp...that is the cheapest thing to do and safest

Yeahhhh I don't know I love them but I love turbochargers better.. yeah turbo lags but turbo's also have the potential to put out alot more power depending on what you're planning on doing of course.. but i'm just looking to have some fun.. almost stock motor with tt.. I just want to make sure it's safe and be able to have fun with it as a personal project (buying the parts completely seperate without spending alot of money and still being able to put down the numbers at the dyno)
