I want to buy a block to start a project, I found an 04 cobra block at mmr for $500 and found a 4.6 gt block at livernois for $285 but it says 2v but i can put 4v heads on that right? and is there any other dif I should know about? I want to do a 5.0 stroker with forged internals with 4v heads and a 150+ shot of nos. so what do you guys think?

 

not sure what the block limits are on a gt, but sureley that setup can be had with a reg gt block. BUT im not sure if your gonna have to get creative putting the 4v heads on.

 

is that a good price for the cobra block and would that be a good block for what I want to do or does anybody have a better idea?

 

honestly man i have no idea. but i can say this, search on the forum and i bet you can find info on a gt with 4v heads. it has been done before

 

buy an old 96-98 cobra block and start from there.

 

im pretty sure that the cobra and gt BLOCK are the same... atleast i thought... just the internals and heads etc. are diff.??

 

if imm not mistaken thay have diff. mount holes for the heads, thats the big difference. not 100% sure tho

 

if your going to rebuild anyway, shortblock FTW.
