Default Mach vs. Termi

My 03 Mach 1 has 300hp/320tq on a mustang dyno, and my friends cobra has 470hp but he only pulls by about 2-3 lengths on the highway

If I get some 4 cyl. fox springs up front ($40) and some control arms, how much would that help my launch and ultimately 1/4 mile time...enough to get those 2-3 lengths?

Springs < 170 extra horsepower. But just out of curiosity, how are you racing. From a dig/roll and to what speed? 2-3 lengths? He should be walking all over you on the top end.

Springs will greatly improve your weight transfer and the control arms will help keep your power on the ground. Both are key for launching and good 1/4 mile times. Are you runing D/Rs?

well something isnt right, right of the bat, however... eaton pulley swap numbers can be misleading, read the tech articles on the svt forums to find out why so many people (but not all)waste their money pulleying eatons

if he really is pushin 470 and is on drag radials then he will probly be running a low 12 with no problem. with springs, controle arms and drag radials, ud probly be running 12.8s i would guess. he would still pull pretty hard on u.

That Cobra isn't hooking and is probably feathering it to death. If he stays with his current setup and you upgrade that Machs suspension, you should close the gap within the 1/8th mile, but upwards or around the 1/4 mile, he's going to continue to run you over. Machs have a lot of low end torque and coupled with the solid rear and a good aftermarket suspension,it's a tough cookie off the line.

Those cars aren't even close! Either he's spinning off the line, but even then he would tear you apart on top end or his numbers aren't right! I'll put it lightly, get a supercharger and then you can keep up with him! If you get something better than a $500 Eaton, then you will take him, but until then there's nothing you can do! It's like a honda civic trying to change his tires to beat your Mach!...lol
