Default NX Nitrous

Hey, guys. I had a quick question. I was looking on American Muscle at some of the nitrous kits. Originally I was putting every dime I had towards a mongoose kit for the spring, but some unexpected costs have come about, and I had to re-arrange the order of doing things. I've decided I'll finish up my drag suspension and throw on a small shot (like 75 or so) of nitrous, along with a nice set of drag radials for this year's drag season. I need to buy another car for the winter next year, and I don't think I'll be able to afford the mongoose kit AND a decent beater this year. I eventually wanted to use the SC along with spray anyway, now I'm just switching the order temporarily.

So basically my question is for you spray guys. All I'm looking for is enough to make a few passes every couple weekends or so with a 75 shot. I've heard wet shots are the safest. I'm not looking to use the spray for my main power maker for good, just something to lower my times a bit. I figure with the suspension work, a bit of weight reduction, some tires, and the spray, I'll shoot for high 12's. So what would be the best kit for the 75 shot? I'd like to go with Nitrous Express, they seem to be one of the best.

Here's the link to the AM kits: http://www.americanmuscle.com/99-04-...g-nitrous.html

Now I'm not really sure what the difference is between the two EFI kits, and I don't even know what the plate kit is. Anyone have any advise? I don't really know anything about nitrous. If Mitch, or ZW, or 01GT4.6 could chime in, that would be great. But any help is appreciated.

what mod's do you have?

they have a nozzle and a plate kit.

the nozzle go's into your air intake about 8-10 inch's from the throttle body. the plate sit's above your intake mani. people use both kit's so i dotn know which would be better.

american muscle also has the direct pot kit, which is the best out of all of them. but is for more toward's car's who want 150+ shot.

and a 10lbs. bottle on 75 shotshould last you around 10 run's

I had the NX 2v plate kit. NX is the best Nitrous maker for solonoids out there. Thier product beats all competition. Better than old school NOS and cheap Zex. Wet is the way to go and buy NX!!! Smart move. The NX 75 shot will get you just about 75rwhp compared to Zex and NOS 75 shots get about 60rwhp. I had a 100 shot on my stang with NGK TR-6 plugs gapped at .030" and ran 93 ontane with NO tune. No timing retard no nothing. That's why I ran .030" plugs. I had zero issues!!! I ran through 6 bottle like the wind..lol
Just one thing to mention. Don't think you can spend $610 on this kit and call it a day. You are going to need an MSD or whatever brand rpm limitor, fuel safety switch, bottle heater and nitrous pressure guage for your dash. If you don't get a bottle heater, you won't stand a chance. You need to be at 950psi in order to achieve the gains. Nitrous is more expensive than one thinks to do things right! If you don't run fuel pressure safety switch you risk running nitrous when your fuel pump goes bad. Engine goes boom! Without an rpm limitor, you'll miss a shift and hit your fuel cut-off and the notrous will still flow in your engine. Engine goes boom! Usually a scorched valve=loud knock if it doesn't bend! i ran a complete kit and it cost me roughly $1200 with a spare 10lb bottle.

yea but if he had his car tuned prior to nitrous. they would have messed with his timing meaning i wouldent run even a 50 shot until another tune.

I agree on the safety equiptment. If you are going to run nitrous do it right and don't skimp on safety. I's suggest the NX kit + GenX2 safety kit + a windowswitch + NGK TR6's gapped at .035. On my kit I noticed a huge difference in power between the 75 and 100 shot. Not all cars are the same but I dropped 1.3 secs off my 1/4 mile times with a 100 shot. I have a shark nozzle kit and spray about 6" before the throttle body blade. Also NX hasa lifetime gaurantee on their solenoids, they'll inspect/ rebuild them for free. I just got my fuel solenoid back last week. All I had to pay was shipping.

the plate system is nice, its what i have on my car. i would just go with the 100 shot and get it tunes, no point in doing a 75. youll get about 6 runs from a 10LB bottle with a 100 shot. if u click on the link in my sig i have pictures of my setup uper the hood.

not to thread hijack but how would you go about mounting 2 10lbs. bottle's? instead of a 15?

are they both turned on at the same time or only one at a time?

I assume you run 2 short line (1 off each bottle) that feed into a "Y" fitting that runs into the main line.

(1) 10# bottle. I ran a 100 shot, but I'm about to run a 150 shot.
