vacuum leak??

Default vacuum leak??

my cars seems like its having a rough time idleing. i've changed the spark plugs, got new wires, new fuel filter. it idles, but it seems like its having a hard. it shows the characteristics of a vacuum leak too. im just wondering what are the commom vacuum leak area??? so i can check them all... thanks guys

well clean the IAC first...usually gives a rough idle dirty......then take some carb clean...spray the engine while its running...like around vacuum areas..and intake manifold...ull know you have a vacuum leak when you hit an area that has one..the engine will act up alil bit..then look around in that area

+1 check the IAC. mine got clogged and the car wouldnt run without some throttle.

idle air control valve... lets air get to the engine when the butterfly valve in the throttle body is closed. no air = no idle.

If the IAC doesn't help, check your PCV valve.

PCV valve wouldnt caust a bad idle... unless its unplugged...but youd know it would be a pretty loud vacuum noise if the PCV was unplugged and car was running

You're wrong. If the valve is stuck open or broke his idle would sit real high and take a while to go back down, and between that time it would jump all around.
