i would love to do a swap, but i don't think that it is something that i could do myself. to have a swap done i got a quote of $5000.00. very expensive, for half that i could get a mean already built aode and just drop it in w/out any modding. i was just wondering if i missed anything for beefing up an aode w/out spending alot of $ and able to do on my own. thanks, ron

it requires more then a **** kit to beef up and aod, id just look into getting an already built transmission. after parts + labor itll be about the same.

I spent 3000 beefing up the aode tranny on my t-bird it will handle 600hp. too expensive I will never waste my time on that again. yeah I can leave posi hitting second and small chirp in third but to what damage to the rest of my drive line? point is you dont something too agressive like I did. yeah its cool to blow away ls1's and stangs and just about anything else that pulls up to me but it also sucks to have everyone wanting to race you.

p.s. the bird has a 5.0- aftermarket intake and exhaust
tranny- shift kit, 1500 stall dif valve body & some other sh*t
3.73 gears out back

thats alot for a swap... i hope that includes everything including the transmission n stuff but even still.. since i was quoted... $1700 including labor for a full complete swap (4R70W to T45). but i dont want a T45, and im looking into a TKO600.

but just your luck, its expensive to beef up an AODE :x

i have a T3650 with bad 3rd gear synchros i could sell for cheap, only had 120k on it. worked like new, all cept 3rd that is. i could sell that to you for like $500 shipped and you could have 3rd gear rebuilt for fairly cheap.
