Default problem with MIL eliminators

I just got them installed and I still have a check engine light on. When I got them installed they were put on the rear 02's and immediately afterwards the didn't turn off. The mechanic turned them off with a computer but a day later they turned back on. Does anyone know why this is happening? I thought that the MIL eliminators would solve the problem and my check engine light would turn off. Anyones help would be greatly appreciated.

They are not always guaranteed to keep the CEL from turning on. Te best way is to use a tuner and turn off the rear O2 sensors.

I had the mechanic turn them off but they went back on. He used a big red looking computer.

It was most likely a scanner, not a tuner. A scanner just reads anddeletesthe codes on the computer, it doesn't prevent them from appearing again. You need a tuner to tell the car's computer itdoesn't have the rear O2 sensors, so it doesn't detect they are failing.

Do all mechanics have access to this or do I have to buy a freakin' tuner?

I highly doubt they would have one. I most likely suggest buying a tuner since you get alot more benefits from it.

If My computer doesn't read that I have the 02's then wouldn't it decrease my gas milage? That's the whole reason I got them installed.

No, the front O2 sensors are the ones that will screw with the car, the rear sensors are only checking the effectiveness of the catalytic converters. The CEL will stay on, but the only bad thing is you won't know if you really do have something happening or if the light is only on because of the mid pipe.

And from what I've read on here, MIL eliminators are about a 50/50 shot of whether they work or not.

I'm sorry but I didn't understand you post. If I get them shut off the light will stay on? I'm a little confused.
