Default Installed Accufab plenum..broke a bolt screwed up :)

since the trickflow was a whistling, poorly cut piece of junk, i put an accufab on it, and i am happy to report..no whistle.
However.. the EGR bolt, on the right was real hard to get in, kept cross threading, but i finally got it in..but when i was putting in the IAC bolt..one of them broke off, and theres bareley any stud sticking out. As a result, i know have a vaccum leak; the engine rev hangs, right now ive got it on with out a gasket, because it seals up tighter like this..the car idles fine now, just rev hangs, i figure because theres no gasket. What should i do?

Be more careful when you're under your hood. Same thing happened to a buddy. I'd say even though you're not having problems now, get it fixed and take your time with the install.

I've had this happen to me. If you don't feel like buying the $40 part at autozone, put the gasket back on and put gasket maker around the end that the bolt broke on, tighten the otherside down and let it sit for a lil. Its a ghetto rig but it'll hold.

You might try an easy-out drill bit. Be carefull not to get any metal in the intake, and don't break the easy-out off in the stud. I did that once and spent hours trying to drill that out.

And about the broken bolt, try a vise grip if you can't get it out doing that your going to have to drill into it with very smal drill bit, then use a extractor bolt while applying a lot of preassure and slowly drilling the bolt out.

stangs eat rice, what is the 40 dollar part your talking about?

But that is a very good idea you've got there, just rub some gasket maker on the part with the broken stud still in it?

I cant fit a vice on it

umm... weld it??? sounds like a bad idea in the makings... i hope your joking... drill it out and get a new bolt... try getting a small screw driver in there and hit it counter clockwise with a hammer... that is how i got a bolt out one time
