Im going to set an appointment tomorrow to get my windows tinted and im having trouble deciding how dark to go. The guy who will be doing it has an 03 roush and he said hes gotten pulled over 3 times in the last 6 months with 5%. But he does the windows on police cruisers so he gets let go. Other people i know havnt had trouble with the cops though.
Just wanted to know what you guys' opinions were on it. Im worried i wont be happy with 20% against my black car. Any help would be appreciated and feel free to post pics

 

I have 15% in my car. I sometimes wish i would of went darker. Is your car a daily driver? do you have the windows up alot when you drive?I only drive mine when its nice so i usually have the windows down so its not a big deal and i dont have to worry about getting pulled over but if you drive yours everyday rain or shine and the windows up i woulddefinatly go with 20%

 

i have 15%. i sometimes have trouble seeing out of the windows at night when there are no streetlights. also i got pulled over the other day for my tint...i live in georgia where the limit is 35 i think. if i were you id go with 20...with 5 you'll regret how dark it is at night

 

go with 20%... it will look fine, only go with 5 if you really dont want people seeing you inside your car... but know it's a biotch at night... and that is just another reason for the cops to mess with you, it's bad enough your in a sports car... nah mean... lol

 

put 20 percent on the sides and 5 on the back. It makes the sides look darker than they are, but they still will read 20 percent on the cops reader.

Whats the local laws on back windows? Around here, the only thing that matters is the sides.

 

I went with 5% all around and I live in cali. Never had any problems yet. But I do drive with my windows down a lot, but with all that said I sometimes wish it was darker.

dont do 20, 5 is just as illegal. GO BIG OR GO HOME

 

20% is plenty dark. It will be easier to see at night and you will get less shi* from cops. If you really want 5% only do it on the rear and back 1/4 windows.

 

What i found for LA is:




FrontSideWindows
Must allow more than 40% of light in.

BackSideWindows
Must allow more than 25% of light in.

RearWindow
Must allow more than 12% of light in.

Do those numbers mean 40%tint etc.? not sure

Also is the night time difference between 5 and 20 that much? As in is it that much easier to see out of at night between the two
