Those with 4 10's
I'm still confused about a couple of things with gears....if 3.73 and 4.10 gears are so much better, why didn't Ford just put them in as standard? By looking around on-line, it doesan't appear that higher ratio gears cost more than the stock gears already in the Mustang, so I don't think it was cost. If not cost, what's the major draw back that would make Ford not want them in as standard?

4.10 s in a 5 speed area great i wouldnt have gone any other route... pple gave me **** when i told them i was going 4.10's with f/i they said it would be to much... i still think there could be more... you do loose some tracktion but with good tires and some u/l controll arms youll get that back. so i say go for the 4.10's
GTnate, you better have some more mods done before you post with "LS What?" in your sig.
I have 4.10s with my 5 speed....wouldn't have it any other way (unless I get 'charged and move to Germany and drive the autobahn everday).

i have a 97 cobra, when i bought my car it had 4.10s, i dont like em, and im probally going to install 3.73s. so i guess im the first person you've met that would rather 3.73's over 4.10s.

But anyways i am definetally going with the 4.10s. If i dont like them, witch i doubt i wont, ill go lower.
I have the stock 3.55s in mine and I probably won't go lower than 4.30's. It will make 5th work in the city. I think a lot of people are worried about highway driving, but the rpms aren't that much different.

Mach1 4R70W ratios as follows
2.84
1.55
1.00
0.70 (OD)
Manual
.62 ratio, 80mph, at X.XX:1 rear gear ratio
3.55 = 2304 rpm
