Default One more question

Okay, so I know all the questions are probably getting pretty annoying, and I'm sorry about that, but hey, thats what the board is here for right?

Do all of you have really noisy gauges? It seems like when they are cold, I can hear the little electric motors quite a bit. Granted, Im diagnosed OCD, so that might have a little to do with it, but theres also a different theory.

I recently installed a subwoofer and amp into the back of my car, which really was only because I was given the amplifier and subwoofer for free, so I didn't want to waste them. Its an Insignia 1000w Amp and a 10" Kicker Sub. Im wondering if I possibly screwed up the wireing, or if the gauges were really supposed to be noisy? They are aftermarket gauges, I think steeda overlays and I know autometer boost and fuel pressure. The fuel pressure seems to be the noisiest, but the Tach is a close second?

Its kind of funny how I graduate in Engineering, and yet I still have these questions. Anyway, does anybody have any Ideas? it would be really helpfull, even with the knock sensor, the sound still makes me nervous sometimes.

never heard of something like that before, but if i were you, i'd sell the sub/amp and put that towards some drag radials, but that's just me

I have four 03 cobra rims with Hoosier A6's on them (Im a road course guy). fortunately, I have a job and family that allows me to spend a crapload of money on stuff I don't need.

Now i know what you mean, because with what Im putting down, I can't hook up at anything less than 40mph, which sucks, but I don't really need that much hook for the street, especially considering I drive under the speed limit they really wouldn't get much use

yeah i'm more of a road course guy myself, but drag racing is more affordable for me right now. i'm planning on (hopefully) one day having another car as a daily driver and my Mustang to run in SCCA. right now i've leaned more toward handling with my suspension and i can't get any kind of grip in 1st gear at all. what kind of racing do you like? i generally watch F1 and MotoGP, but we go to the Houston Grand Prix every year (free tickets from Shell), these arejust a fewpics i took last year (can't find the damn pics of the Aston Martin):

F1 was my favorite when Michael Schumacher was racing, and severly pissing every other racer off, but then he retired, so now I'm on to the Indy racing league (Danica Patrick FTGDMFW-hah, she lives in phoenix too ), but yeah, I can usually get into all types of racing. The GT series (at least thats what I think its called) is pretty cool to watch too.

yeah that Porsche was an American LeMans series car, they have different classes like GT1, GT2, etc that all run at the same time (similar to the original LeMans series). there weren't any Mustangs running in the event, a coupe Vettes but most of the cars were euro (Porsche, Aston Martin, etc). we used to have the Trans Am series come to townwith the Champ Car guys, there were always a lot of Mustangs and Camaros in that series, but we haven't seen them in a while. i got to see Alex Zanardi race in his final season before going to F1 (and losing his legs), and also got to see Juan Montoya in his rookie season in CART, so that was pretty cool. and yeah i loved Michael Schumacher.. he was seen test-riding some sport bikes not too long ago (a Ducati i think, not really sure though), there was speculation that he may be looking at going into World Superbike or one of the MotoGP series, but i'm pretty sure it's just all speculation.

and yeah i like IRL too, we go see them every couple years at Texas Motor Speedway, that's one hell of an exciting race.. they always talk it up as one of the more exciting races of the year (other than the Indy 500 of course) just cause of the high speeds and close action. it's not a really huge track, but they average something like 205+ mph around that track.

well, hopefully someone can answer my original question. It seemed as if it appeared when I first installed the amp and sub in my car, but thats when my exhaust leak seemed to appear, so it might have always been there. I don't know, I just want to make sure I didn't screw anything up

Nobody has any Idea if this is a problem or just normal?
