American Muscle has a guide to wheels. 18" wheels will give you better handling with a slight decrease in ride quality, but the difference is negligable.

Good luck.

just go by the size you like best... lowered with an 18" rim and like a 35 side wall, mustangs look the absolute best IMO

from what ive heard 17/18 weight differences arent enough to sway someones decision... you lose like 2rwhp with 18's as opposed to 17's

thats only what ive heard though. somebody correct me if im wrong

my car is 2 tenths and 2 MPH slower in the quarter rear tire and rim wieghs 61LBs and the front tire and rim weigh 51LBs(18' saleens from ebay) compared to the stock 17's that are 45LBs but doesnt really ruin the ride at all
before

after

My wider summer 18's do affect the ride quality a little. It tends to walk a little on the crappy paved roads, but the gain im driving in pennsylvania so im sure that has a lot to do with it. The only thing I would reccomend is get a little more tire than a 35 series. I have black saleens and everytime i look at it i think i have a flat tire.

I have 18" bullit dd on mine. It didnt make the ride any different IMO. I just dropped it this past week. It look bad A$$ now. the only down side is the price of rubber goes up.

Heavyer 18 inch rims will definatly slow the car down. Its not going to be like locking up the brakes, but the difference is there.
