Default 02 bogging down problem

I have a 02 Gt sohc 5 speed it only does it every so often and never a check engine light but you will be driving it and seems like it starts to chug just a little and if you try to give it more gas it does'nt go any faster and some time it tries to die? It has 101k on it with BBK converters & H pipe with flowmasters, BBk cold air intake, BBk throttle body and plenieum! Ant ideas at all would be great Thanks.

Have the plugs ever been changed? Also, by 101k miles the front O2 sensors could be getting sluggish to respond, which could cause bogging without throwing a DCT.

I completely agree with cliff My vote is 100% with the upstream 02 sensors, you might also want to check into cleaning your MAF sensor. (use the spray designated for it...autozone etc.)

Good point! You gotta remember it's hot as hell were you O2 sensors are so not a bad idea to replace when doing your plugs!

Ya I changed the plugs about 6500 miles ago, fuel filter about 4000 miles ago, I have already cleaned the MAF, I have had the car about a year now and in 4th gear(thats when you feel it more ) at a steady speed you will feel it like chugging lightly but never any problems like that untill here in the last month and starts bogging down and chugging sometimes.

I have the same problem, and I am in the middle of trying to diagnose it, by process of elimanation of cheapest first. But from what I have heard, since you have fairly new plugs, and filter. Look at you TPS, fuel pump or a bad coil. I am getting a new TPS next week. That will be my next move to try.

Ya I was thinking TPS or fuel pump too. I just hate throwing parts at it , but it looks like thats what I'm going to haft to do.

Might be a coil. Can still take it to a tech and have him compare the cylinders without your Check light on. If one's not firing like the others, prolly a coil bro.
