Default Tune for Procharger

I'm buying a Procharger P1SC kit from a member on here. The setup is as follows:

P1sc headunit with 9-10 lb pulley
2 core intercooler
all piping and brackets needed to install on a new edge
all hardware
procharger bypass valve
instruction/owners manual
2 belts (one gates and one gatorback)
brand new idler pulley
two new bottles of procharger oil
K&N filter recharge kit
steeda oil seperator and breather for other valve cover
ngk tr6 spark plugs
(basically everything procharger sends you and more)
diablosport mafia
42# frpp injectors
svt focus fuel pump
kenne bell bap
SCT X-cal 2

However, the dilemma is it does not come with a tune. The SCT he's providing is only if I go to a shop and they need to put the tune on the car...from what I understand. Basically, I need a tune.

I called Procharger and they don't sell tunes. They told me to contact Diablo or SCT. I might give that a shot. I was told to get a custom tune, but I'm installing this kit with a GM tech friend of mine and there isn't a dyno shop around that area. Anyone know where I can get a working tune or any other ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

uhhh.. go to a shop to get it tuned. don't buy a mail order tune unless you plan on replacing your motor sooner than later.

+1, you're going to need to either drive it OUT OF BOOST to a shop to tune it, or have it towed if you're too worried about driving it. the drive shouldn't be a problem though.

I understand a dyno is more precise, but I'm going to have to drive about 100 miles to the nearest dyno shop right after install. I heard there is risk of detonation. I was told I could leave the 42lb injectors out and the bypass valve off, and as long as I don't open the throttle wide open I'd be alright. What do you think? Would you risk it?

you'll be find as long as you stay out of boost. my car is running untuned right now for my motor/tranny break-in. i have about 550 miles on them now. just don't be stupid. you're not going to have much of a choice but to drive it there.

Keep it below 3k and WOT and you don't have anything to worry about. Your bypass will remain open and you won't be building any boost. I've been down the mail order tune route before, DON'T GO THERE. Definitely get it dyno tuned. If thats not an option get a wideband O2 kit and Sniper Special Forces tuning sofware and tune it yourself.

Plus one on the sniper and wideband. I tuned a vortech once with it and the tune was spot on and never had to go to a dyno. Data logging on the street is way more accurate then a dyno.

i agree with the wideband o2 and tuning it yourself...IF you know what you're doing. if you don't know about a/f ratios and spark advance curves then i'd get itdyno tuned because you can destroy your engine if you try to tune it yourself and don't know what you're doing. run it too lean, or too much spark advance, and when you go WOT you'll have a good chance of throwing a couple rods out the side of your block.

with no tune what so ever your car will run like crap with the 42lb injectors. it will probably mess the plugs trying to drive it a 100 miles. if you call the shop you plan on getting it tuned at they can supply you with a base tune to drive it there. my tuner e mailed me a base tune just to get the car to him. it will run extremely rich if not. I would still suggest putting it on a trailer and towing it there or just stay out of boost.
