From all that I heard and read, your right it really helps with sc cars or Nitrous, so I got it to future proof! As for power, I know my car and it feels different at wot...maybe its just in my head but i feel an oomph! lol
better throttle response lol...

did it make any effect on the sound of the motor?

I figured that was better than getting the stupid plastic again from ford for like $400ish.
you can pick up PI intakes for $150 all day long.

I was driving around for quite a while on a cracked PI and when it actually finally gave way, and I got the new one, the sound kind of mellowed out, which is odd. It also started running better, but im sure you could have guessed that.

01GT4.6 - where can you get the PI intakes at that price? I had to pay $700 for mine from the dealership.

American Muscle carries them for a lot cheaper than $700. It is like $160 or somewhere around that.

Well what I said was that I needed it ASAP, THATS why I went with aluminum. The only two I could get a hold of THAT DAY was either from ford that quoted me at $350+ tax and Brotherperformance that was aluminum. So NO I couldnt have got it for $192 like americanmuscle offers.

do these manifolds just crap out randomly or is it related to high horsepower? I'm a little nervous that mine will start to **** coolant all over the place with my 259rwhp....

Usually its only the 1999 or 2000 years that I believe didn't have an aluminum coolant crossover. I believe there was a big lawsuit against ford, and if your manifold failed within 7 years of the purchase date, they either paid for a new one, or reimbursed(sp?) you up to $800
