i have a 97 mustang auto and want to make it sound super mean but cheap? right now i have straight pipes on it and it sounds ok for twenty bucks i was thinking flowmasters. any ideas

I'd go with flowmaster, i got it on my 96 GT withan H-pipe(no cats)and it has a nice deep rumble to it, you wont regret buying it.

 

try flowtech also. They are actually really good exhaust components and reasonably priced.

 

IMO go wit bbk CAI, High Flow Cats or none, X-pipe, and racing cut-outs right before the 40 series flows. GUARANTEED TO SHUT EM DOWN. Do you have Cats? CAI?

 

Longtubes, o/r H and mac or flows

 

LT's an O/R H-pipe

 

Yeah just go with an O/R H and probably Some magnapacks. Super deep tone and the O/R H wiil make it quite loud.

 

If you want ALL AROUND deepness... stick to MRT, MAC, Flowmaster
If you only want deep at idle and <2000 rpm... go with Magnapacks, Magnaflow, Bassani


Chambered mufflers like Flowmaster, especially matched with an h-pipe, stay low throughout the rpm range.
Straight thru mufflers like Magnapacks are extremely deep at idle and <2000 rpm but after they get high pitched.

 

i wouldnt go with an h-pipe though, i dont like how they sound at 3k, id go with either a prochamber or an x-pipe. i had an o/r h-pipe with my mac catback and i didntl ike it, thats why i went with a bassani x-pipe and it sounds badass.
