1. gears
2. exhaust

i went through the normal bolt-ons (cai, throttle body, plenum, etc) and after it was all said and done, i wish i had done the exhaust and gears first. and don't waste your money on a cold-air intake. just get a K&N filter and put it in the stock air filter location. the air intake isn't what chokes these motors down, it's the cylinder heads. unless you've got some aftermarket cams or ported heads, all that money spent on anaftermarket cold-air intake ($100+ at least) will just be a waste because you won't really see notable gains from it (maybe a couple hp at best).

I would say exhaust and tuner. Then maybe some gears.

exhaust so it sounds like a mustang, then gears so it feels more like one.

1st get a tuner if you're willing to at least use 91 octane preferably 93 octane.

if you're going to buy a tuner, then don't get a mail-order handheld tuner. if you're going to do it at all, then do it right and get the Sniper Special Forces tuning software. you can find it for around $400-$450 (contact the guys at Hollywoodracing.net, Mathew hooked me up and their customer service is awesome), and it gives you much more end-user adjustability than a hand-held, and it's very user friendly. you can use it to set up a base tune and then as you add more mods, just go in there and fine-tune it by telling the software what mods you have on the car. and once you learn more about tuning, you can tweak it by making adjustments to the timing and a/f mixture at different rpm levels.

just buy a used diablosport from the forum for around 200-250 shipped

it'll free up some horsepower when you tune it for traction off and it will cause your shifts to be much firmer.. i had one in my automatic v6 and it felt like a whole new car.. much more responsive
