Default Something new

During my search for a shift light , I didn't want to put a ricer tach in, I found something pretty cool. I had also wanted something in the car to tell my my engine was detonating. I found this http://www.turboxs.com/more_info.php?ID=212It is a warning light to tell you when you have spark knock and it doubles as a shift light. Once I found it I looked all over the internet to find out more about it. Seems to be exactly what I need and I ended up finding it for sale on ebay for $98 so I picked it up. I had to also buy a universal bosch knock sensor for $80.

This isn"t for everybody because most people don't tune their own cars. I refuse to let any mechanic or tuner touch my car so thats why I got it. Those of you that have the handheld tuners can use this to max out your timing. This seemed like a better option to me then the J&S safeguard that pulled timing for you (but that thing is still kinda cool)

I will be home at the end of the month and will install and test this.

hey thanks for sharing this oxford. i've been looking for something like this as well. i checked out the one you're talking about that retards timing when it detects knock and i didn't really like the idea of this thing cutting 10-20 degrees of timing whenever it detects a knock. i'd rather it just tell me so i can adjust the timing myself. keep us posted cause i might end up putting one of these in my car when i put the supercharger on next month.
