First off What's up everyone? Hope everything is good!!! I wanna share something with you guys... Well I bought my 01 lazer Red GT from Galpin Ford 7 years ago.. Its a dealer here in southern CA. Well "Galpin Ford"Tends to add a few things to some of their cars when they get them.. In my case it was window tint. Since then it juststarted to bubble up & fade already. So i went ahead & made an appiontment at a reputable shop get my tint re-done.. So a couple days ago on my way to work at around3:30am I got pulled over by a cop. So he starts to give me hell over my tint.. I mean my tint is so faded to the point where its see through purple.lol so now im debating weather to getthe tintback on after i have it removed, so my highway patrol writes off the ticket that it did get itremoved. My plans were to go limo tint all around. lolSo would you guys get it put back on if you were in my shoes? Here In California they consider window tint to be a moving violation now.lolOut where you guys live,how tough are the cops when it come to window tint?

 

i would suggest that you dont get it too dark.. go 20% as the darkest.. CA FTL

 

I work in law enforcementso I don't feel guilty saying this. If a cop pulls you over for your tint, chances are he's only doing it to see if he came come up on something else. It's just an excuse to stop someone and if he writes you a citation, he's a dick!Actually, it's chicken sh*t and i have no problem telling someone that. With the way Meth has taken over society, the cops have plenty to do to occupy their time. Will they do that, probably not because they are to busy writing tickets for tint violations.

 

The way I see it, you're not usually going to get pulled over just for tint, or tint on taillights, or license plate covers. Now if the cop pulls you over for speeding and see's the tint, then he'll write it but they usually wont pull you over for small things like that. But you are in Cali. so i don't know for sure. But here in alabama, nobody is tellin me what i can put on my damn car. I say get it double limo all the way around. you can go to an eye doctor and get a perscription to have limo tint if you say you have sensitive eyes. But you can say you got the car from a police auction as well. lol

 

02 Ninja im also looking into becoming a cop. lol so i do understang where youre coming from. so probably he just needed one more ticket to meet his quota. but i wasent gonna sit there in argue with the guy. lol

 

The way i thought about it was: How often are you going to be riding in front of or on the side of a cop? Not much. I have 5% and am glad i went with it. If theres a cop behind me i just roll my windows down and that allows more light in so the back wont look too dark. Like the others said, they shouldnt hassle you over it too much unless you get pulled over for something else.
I was coming home the other night and there was a cop behind me. I knew there was no way he could see inside and iwas just waiting for the lights to go but he never did anything

 

5% is dangerous, and you wont have a prayer at passing inspection. 20% is hard to pass, but its not dangerous at all and still looks good, 30% sucks, Ive had 2.5%, 5%, 20% and 35%, 20% is the best all around imo

 

i think the hardest decision is goign 15% or 20%

 

The shop i got mine done at said there really was no noticable difference between 15 and 20. Shops will usually carry one or the other. 20s more common

 

Scew itim gonna go ahead & get itre-done.. ill do the darkest out back & the 2 quarter pannels, then something lighter up on both doors.
