ok so i just bought my first mustang and i put some new window tint on it.. and for some reason when i put the windows up and down it leaves slight scratches on my tint. do i need to take the door panel off or is there an easier fix?

What year is your car? I have 13% tint on my windows "professionally installed" and I have no problems. Are you 100% positive you put the tint on the right side. It maybe time for new window felt if your car is older.

when i first bought my car, i had the same problem. the tint ended up peeling because it scraped so much. however when i took it to the tint shop to get redone, he even told me that on the 99-04 mustangs, he sees this a lot. Guess it's just a luck of the draw if yours does it or not. just get it professionally done with a lifetime warrantee.

I have an 01 and never had a problem with the window tint, maybe it's the type of tint that is installed?

mine has a scratch on the drivers side window right in the middle going up. its probably from the track the window slides on. it must be sliding against something sharp??

my '02 is doing that now.....Had the window pop out of the regulator and brought it in to get redone. Now I got a nice scratch all the way down the tint. No biggie for me though....South Louisiana = WINDOWS DOWN 98% OF THE TIME!!!!! [8D]

i had the same problem with my '02 a couple years ago. some debris somehow got into the felt that rubs against the window and was scratching it. i had the dealer replace it (the felt), they did it free under warranty, and after having the windows re-tinted i haven't had a problem since.
