I was thinking about getting a 100 shot for my car. Dont make fun of me but I have no idea how to use it and when to use it. Can someone explain to me in 'supid' [sm=redx.gif]people terms on how to use the nitrous after it is installed?

Hey i have to learn sometime.[sm=happybounce.gif]

I love my nitrous... Full blast all the time. From about 2000RPM till redline all the time. Oh wait... I have a Supercharger. lol
Since when? I know you said you either wanted a new car or wanted to S/C a while back, I think.
Haha Last Month! Too bad it's snowed since I got it.[:@]

How bad is the install on the nitrous kit? Is itsomething anyone could do or better to have a shop do it? How much would a shop charge?

K forget about the push a button stuff you see on tv. Yes you can hook it up that way......but not really the best ideal.

There is a safer way to do it.
You have you basic nitrous kit.
You will want a WOT switch so when you are floor that will be the only time Nitrous will hit.
Next you will want a window switch so you can spray from say 3200-6000. This way the nitrous isnt hitting to early and cause problems and the top number helps so if you miss your shift you wont hit the rev limiter while spraying. Which is something you do not want to do.
Then you can add a fuel pressure safefy switch just makes sure you have fuel pressure.

So what will happen is it will only spray If you have your nitrous activated by your on switch, with the pedal to the floor, if you have enough fuel pressure, and inbetween the set rpm you set in your window switch.

Other items to think about. Purge kit, while it looks cool it also basicly gets the nitrous ready, and the initial hit will hit harder. Next thing is a bottle warmer, your bottle will sit say at around 650psi most of the time, but optimal psi is close to 1100psi

Difference inbetween a dry kit and a wet kit are how it gets fuel. A dry kit depends on the fuel invectors to supply more fuel after a sensor notices its needs more. A wet kit the fuel is sprayed at the same time generelly through the intake along with the nitrous and uses a fuel solenoid that taps into the fuel rail by use of the shrater(spelling) valve

its not that bad. and unlike a sc install you dont have to have to totally finish it before you go to work. You can do the install one day for the hose, plate, tap into the fuel one day. come back do your wiring. and lastly comeback and mount the bottle.

For a shop to install it look for around 200 bucks or so. Just went by what i have seen on a performance shops website. everyshop is differnt. I much rather do it myself and use the money for the dyno.

As long as you can follow a diagram its doable to some one that can strip a wire and use some but splices and a crimper. Then drill and a screw driver.

Well i'm glad to see some interest in the subject. I was in your guy's shoes this time last year, and I have had a blast with mine!

If you can get that power to the ground, you car will surprise you with what it'll run

THANK you very much for that information. It really helps me understand alot better. I truly apprecate the write up. Would a 100shot be perfect for what i have done to my car now? I dont want to do any major $ changes to the motor at this time, but i do want some more power very very soon.
