Cleaning the Cat-back
So i purchased a used SLP cat back, and im **** and i want it to look like new. Its in good condition I just have time to waste.
I was thinking of using a fine grit paper say about 4000 to clean up the pipes, and a good heat resistant metal polish for the tips.
Ive searched, found some threads about it, I just wanted some feed back about what works.

The really fine grit might not be a bad thing on the piping and what not that goes over the axle and up to the tips, but I wouldn't use anything like that on the tips themselves.
I suppose if they're chipped up and have some dings then a resurfacing would be one way to go about it, but if they're still pretty good like you said, just use some metal polish/eagle one nev-r-dull on em and polish the **** out of 'em till they shine.
I don't know much about applying some kind of polish after putting a fine sand job on something. Might scratch the finish up to begin with, and then you'd have dull tips. And we both know you don't want that.
(if you're that bored, come to Indiana and help me put my head back on my car.. lol)

Yeah i wasnt planning on using it on the tips, though inside the tips its a little grimey.
Im always up for a project, though Id probably waste all my spare time just getting there!

when i cleaned my SLP tips i used some degreaser to get most of the grime off then i took putty knife to get the melted rubber off ( i have no idea how that got there[sm=smiley2.gif]) and then i took some obsessive detail metal polish to clean then up to a shine
