Id love to have an LS1 in my car. I dont care for how camaros look but the power of an LS1 is great.

A simple cam swap and near 400whp instead of doing every single botlon money can buy + nitrous or a supercharger on the 2v.
buying a cam isn't going to give you 100rwhp man. And I don't see a problem with it, but like others said it'll probably be more work than you foresee, you could probably put that much money into your current motor and have more power.

after spending about a month in the 5.0 side of MF, i have changed my opinions a lil.. i think it would be bad *** to put an ls1 in a stang. u get the looks of a stang with the power to actual back it up lol.

I'd do it if it was easy. Blasphemy? whateva. LS1 is a badass engine.

Seems like it would be hard to make the electronics work. What PCM do you use and how can you connect it to the Ford system? Sounds hard. Or you can run Megasquirt or something.

Time to earn my official title. From what I have heard from my LS1 friends its not that hard of a swap, now having said that dont expect it to just bolt right in. You are putting a chevy engine in a ford and there will be some custom fabrication and wiring required thats for sure. The job would not be for a novice. The power however would be worth the swap IMO. It would cost money but you could make some serious power out of the LS1, I personally would go with a full exhaust and a 100 shot. When my engine goes I will seriously consider putting an LS1 in my car, not saying I will, but it will be an option.

Check this out, pretty damn impressive for a stock bottom end.

Id rather have a terminator engine or the n/a version...way better than a LS1 ,probably cost the same with labor and fabrication that has to be done.

The only reason that the 03 cobra is better is because it comes factory with forged internals and boost, but comparing engines the LS1 is still much better. And a 4.6 dohc NA is not better than an LS1. Just stating the facts, no need to be naive and think 4.6>everything.

It's already being done, but in a 2006 GT.

It's called Project Heretic. I personally don't see the point, as it's not a Mustang anymore... If you want an LS1 that bad, why not just get a Camaro?
Cos camaros are fugly

Thinking in terms of cash:

Many other possibilities that would also provide great power > Doing an LSx swap into a Mustang.

Surely to God a 4V swap would be much easier, as would forging your engine and spraying the hell out of it, or forging and going with a blower + nitrous, or even a 3V or a 5.4 swap.

A 4V will make good N/A power. LS1's are NOT supposed to be in Mustangs.[X(]
