Default Should I sell my...

Well im going to be getting blown very very soon and im wondering if I should sell my x-cal v1 tuner after i revert my car to stock for the included KB chip for the blower. Down the road i plan on getting a forged shortblock and stuff and thats about it but I am wondering if I would have any use for the tuner after I use the chip and how much should I sell the old ancient V1 tuner for?

Hmmm. I know KB gives you a chip with their kit but is it retunable, say you add some goodies in the future and need to get it tuned??

it is not retunable and they dont want you to tune it at all... i really dont have any other goodies to add besides a forged shortblock and at that point i think i need a dyno tune... i dont know...i kinda need some money because that blower was expensive

Yea, its the same with Vortech/ Paxton blowers. They want you to use their tune only but not all cars are the same. brenspeed made a tune for my SCT X cal. by what all I told them I had on my car but, I bought a 90mm MAF meter the day I did a dyno @ my shop and my car needed to be retuned. The only good part was I didn't have to pay the tune that brenspeed gave me because of an error in ordering.

ohh i see...well im wouldnt want to touch anything and risk blowing the motor up.

So im guessing I wouldnt have any use for my XCAL v1. after buying this huge purchase Im desperate for money so im leaning towards selling it...its the old black box...I wonder how much I can get for it?

I think you're missing the point here. You should not trust KB tune, you should always have it checked on a dyno. Just trusting the tune is not a good idea if you want to keep the stock short block spinning.

yea i understand what your saying the only thing that bothers me is if you read KB's tech article it states that they have a consistant 11.1 AF ratio and that some dynos say otherwise but teh hp/tq reading is the same no matter where you dyno it because of other variables that might throw off your AF ratio reading. Im not doubting what your saying and to the first guy that responds I know exactly what you mean with the 90mm MAF, KB gives people with 90mm MAF a seperate tune, tahts why I had to get the switch chip when I ordered their Big Tube Kit. But im just going by what they say
