wrecked the stang
Ok guys i wrecked the stang. I have a 2000 Convertible GT. The car spun out on me in the rain on the interstate, and spun hit the driver side rear, and then spun around and hit the driver side front. I am wondering about what i should do about this. I cant go through insurance and dont have unlimited funds to put her together. The tech stuff is coming.
Im figuring i need to take it to a frame shop cause i believe the car is tweaked. The top is looser, the doors and windows aren't lining up, etc. Does anyone know what this will run? Also if anybody has the stock bumper covers for sell, i'd be glad to buy them off of you. I need most parts on the front end. I will be doing all other work myself besides the frame work. I'll put up some pics soon. Sorry that i couldnt make it more technical, ii was trying. [:@]Im just really mad now. It ripped off the bumper, absorber and knocked the reinforcement 4 inches to the passenger side, and up a few inches.

my truck did that on the highway when it was raining really bad. however, I was going around a turn and the rear of my car hydroplaned causing my back end to keep moving forward which caused it to spin out into the guard rail.
seriously bro, your best bet is to go through insurance to get what money you can from it...
if the frame is bent at all you're f*cked....you'll spend WAY more money than its worth just to get it back to 'normal' and i gaurantee you your car will never feel the same again...if it were just cosmetic damage, you might do it on your own....but when it comes to messing with the frame, it just isnt worth it bro
best of luck man...

oh i got an estimate of 600-1000 to straighten the frame. we dont know for sure yet how bad it is. stupid convertibles. :-( but the guy did say it probably wouldnt be right again, but even close is ok with me.

Why can you not go thru the insurance? Its going to be tough to get it all right.
Make sure this "guy" your talking about isn't just some backyard mechanic... you don't want to spend a grand on a car that is never right afterwards.
Right it off... BUy it back, find a lil'6er and convert it all over. V6 insurance GT performance. Only thing better would be a Cobra conversion.
I'd part out my car tomorrow if I could find a 6er in as good of shape as my car for cheap. But my insurance just went up to, so i'm a little bias
