HID install gone bad
hey guys...i recently got the HID conversion kit for my head lights and my fog lights...got the headlights installed, they were really easy and they work great..love them
now onto the fog lights...if some of you remember i had trouble with fogs a few months ago, bc the guy who owned the car before me cut the wiring harness..blah blah blah, couldnt find one, so i just got female connectors and wire and just spliced them into my parking lights so that when i pull the headlamp switch out the first click just for the parking lights the fogs come on with them......well i think that was my prob when it came to trying to put the HIDs in.....the stock bulbs were MELTED to the fog housing, and when we got em out it stripped the backing, which made it almost impossible for the new bulbs to click in place...after a little engineering we got them to stay....great, everything wired up and done, go to turn em on, all lights come on, flicker a few times, than bam, fogs and corner lights go out..never to be seen again.....and my dash lights went out as well....blown fuse i'm guessing...is this becasue it was too much to handle with the way i had the fogs wired up?
dont know too much about wiring or electrical...but any suggestions would help guys, cuz know im fogless, cornerless, and dashless with my lights

i guess since nobodys responding, what i'm asking is, i know for sure i blew some fuses, too much power between the parking lights, the fogs, and the HID's, so i'm gonna replace those, but wanted to knwo if there is a better way to wire up the fogs? maybe even to the switch in the console?
thanks guys
thanks guys
if your blowing fuses you could just rewire your fogs to be on an independent switch and avoid all the problems you would have by useing a bigger fuse.
that way you would have total control of your fogs and have no worries about fried wires.
to clerify just wire the batt to the lights through the swich (and your hid setup), althoe im not sure if the factory swich can handel the volts without melting.
