Default Exhaust

I recently bought a 2002 Mustang GT and its 100% stock...way too quiet for me. A friend of mine told me that the Mac exhaust sounds good with this year mustang but I figured I'd get other opinions..I've read that cat-back is pretty pointless so I'll probably just end up going axle back..any recommendations?

Axle back and cat back are pretty much the same thing except 05's usually refer to their cat back systems as axle back. Although if you want your car louder getting an aftermarket mid pipe would do the trick. I know more ppl will give you information on these.

A cat back is definitely not pointless when paired with the right mid-pipe. Don't cheap out on your exhaust and you'll be extremely pleased. I had a catted X and a Flowmaster Super 40 catback on my GT and loved it. Noticable improvement performance-wise and a sound that was beastly while still remaining relatively tame under normal conditions.

this is true. Getting the right catback and mid pipe is a must. For sound mostly. Finding the tone you want is important.

If you have no REAL emission testing where you live and you want a cheap but SOUND effective alternative........Remove the rear cats on the stock H pipe and throw some 40 series Flows on there. SEX!!!!!
