Default NY performance shops

I tried going through the regional posting section to find performance shops to get my worked. To my surprise not one person could tell me a decent place to rely on. wtf? I'm from upstate ny(Albany) and thought it probably shouldn't be that difficult to come across a reputable shop. There's a place in long island called mustang magic. That's it as far as i know. I plan on 3.73s, cai, throttle body, plenum, udp and a tuner. Driving 4 hours away to get that done doesn't seem worth it. BTW, how long should it take a shop to do all that? more then a day? Should I just install the intake, throttle body and plenum myself? I'm not a mechanic but i have good tools with the exception of certain specialty items. I've asked all around, but haven't recieved any useful information. I hope someone in the forum could help, if not I'm going to get frustrated and sell the car.. don't want to do that.

Don't recommend you use that shop for gears. They installed gears on one of my cars twice and both times I had gear whine. There a couple of shops here in Long Island that are pretty good with gears. RealSpeedAutomotive and Pitbull Performance are the ones I use when getting mods installed. If you need a tune then RealSpeed is the one to go with.
As for the mods, you could do the CAI and throttle body/plenum.
Too bad you are so far up north, I don't really know of any shops up there.

Well you are in VERY good luck. I needed a shop to do my LTs, mid pipe and tuning and found a place right here in Schenectady. I don't think we're allowed to talk about non-sponsored shops so I'll PM you. All I'll tell you right now, a mustang/corvette shop and they're currently working on a new ZO6 that is going in some GM magazine next month. So they're legit, unlocked my XCal2 for free, have pretty good prices, the only thing is that you need to schedule awhile in advance

I recommend Howard as well, he hasnt done any work on my car but has for a few buddies of mine and he always does a great job. He doesnt do gear installs though, he has a guy down in Albany do them.

That TT Z06 is going to be scary
