Default rebuilt engine performance changes

my engine was rebuilt in like october andi got a new motor which cost me like 3 grand

well yesterday i raced a friend with a bone stock 06 gt that has 300 hp and i belive is suppose to be faster then the 99-04 gts

i just put a zoom racing clucth in and have a steeda exhuast with k&N air and i removed the air silencer

other then that shes stock

he has an auto and when we raced from like 30mph to like 120 i pulled on him and beat him by like half a car

so im wondering could it be becuase my engine has been rebuilt or what? he was flooring it the whole time and ive been told i should loose to the s197 models

did you buy a forged internals engine with heads and cams?or just another stock 4.6 factory engine?

thats why you won autos have a disadvantage from a roll. it should be a real close race everytime.
