How do these compare? O/R X w/ SLP LM1's vs O/R X w/ Borla Stingers?

I once had SLP LM1's paired with my O/R X and it sounded terrible! It had the annoying machine gun sound around 2,100-ish rpms. I was wondering if the Borla Stinger catback produces the same sound? My Flow 40's aren't loud enough for me and it's starting to sound like there's something loose inside of them, so sometime this spring I'd like to replace them with something. Also, same question with LM2's. Do they have the machine gun sound? Are the Borla's really worth the price?

borla stingers should sound really nice with the o/r x. i think that machine gun sound will be there with any straight through resonator and o/r x setup. just some setups it will be more pronounced like the lm1, the ones with packing shouldnt be as bad. i have the o/r x and lm2, check vid in sig.

 

the borla with an o/r x pipe will be really loud probably the same as your slp's just a different tone

 

hmm....I don't know what to do....I'd kill myself if I buy another exhaust setup and not like it! I've spent too much in exhaust as is! (thiswill be my 7thvariation ofmy exhaust)lol

I think that LM2's and stingers sound a lot alike. i dont like them myself. i think your best bet would be to get some bassanis. i love their sound. and they are high quality too.

 

Well i got O/R x with LM 2s and damn its loud. I dont wanna know what LM 1s sound like. Damn gotta be ****in loud. I think the only way to get rid of the gun sound is getting a catted X or something.

 

Yeah, from what I've heard Bassani sounds awesome! I just don't know if they are loud enough for me.....Is Bassani louder than Flowmaster?

Catted = too quiet for me lol....I used to run a high-flow catted H with LM1's and it sounded decent, but not loud enough

 

BH i have heard stingers and offroad X and it sounds ****** amazing.

I would have that setup right now if the stingers didnt have those awful 4" tips [:'(]

Anyone happen to know where you can get the stingers with a different setof tips lol?

The catback actually is in 3? pieces. And the last piece is the one that meets right after the axel I believe, and runs out back of the car with the tips.

Im sure you could buy the catback, sell the 2 end pieces for 120 bucks and weld in something new.

Fabricate it I'm sure. People pay good money for a NICE set of 4" Rolled Stainless Steel Tips.

which brings me to my next question.. why don't you like the 4" tips?
