went to replace axle bearings because of a loud grinding sound when i get on the gas and upon further inspection i noticed my spider gears were chipped so bad! i am a do it yourself kind of guy so just need a couple of helpfull hints. Will these gears make this sound because what else could it be? where can i find a kit mayde to rebuild it . and i have no clue what the specifications on the locker is. i do know its a 8.8. rear end..and what the hell could have caused this. i just bought the car..

ok yea, those will make that noise if their ****ed up. im not sure if you can just go buy spider gears though, you may be looking at getting a new carrier, or maybe going to a junkyard and pulling those gears out of another 8.8 rear. id imagine if you can get replacement gears that ford would be your only option, but i could be wrong.

like what the stalk number of teeth or splines. not really a rear end guy. only at the beach..

so in other ,no retarded words, i will just ask for new spider gears for a 8.8 ford mustang gt rear end. some one must have really beat on this car. Also on the diff cover there is two diff scrapes like the ring was rubbing on the case. someone may have been here before.....
