I'm lucky in that I have a car lift to put the car up onto, so I had it running while I was underneath, and the sound honestly wasn't coming from the oil pan, but actually rear of the oil pan, where the flex plate meets the bellhousing. There has been a tiny oil leak coming from that same spot for a while, so I think that might be a good lead.
You will have absolutely no problem selling your car for 21k, probably more if you wanted. Locally, a classic car guy appraised my car at 20k for insurance purposes, so I have a feeling you should be fine with that asking price.
ironically I just took a video from underneath the car, and you can actually hear the noise I'm talking about, but now Windows vista won't allow me to upload it[:@][:@][:@]
good luck with it. I know you and nanaki have a lot of money in ya'lls cars and I wish ya'll the best of luck in selling them but $20,000+? Hell I'd probably let mine go for $12,000 and also throw in the welds wheels with slicks and skinnies and any spare parts that I had.
alright, here is the video that I took, you really have to pay attention to it, because it is fairly subtle compared to the exhaust noise. At first I just thought one of the brackets for the exhaust had come loose, something like that, but it doesn't sound like that. Oh and Nanaki, it wasn't that I couldn't host it, it was that apparently Windows Vista and my camcorder aren't compatible, so I had to switch over to my XP machine to get it to work.

You're talking about the teapot noise, right? It does sound like a bearing noise. Does the bottom the the bellhousing come off at all? I know a lot of autos have a removeable part of the belhousing so you can see the torque convertor. If there is one, take it off (shouldn't be more than 4 or 5 bolts), and listen then. It's fine to run the car without it on, it won't hurt anything.
