So I found that the rattling in my car that I was worried about turned out to be something loose in the Catylitic converter, and it was just rattling when there wasn't enough exhaust gasses passing through. So I went to take off my midpipe to get to the cat, so I could have it replaced or fixed and whatnot. Well, let's just say I lack the mechanical enginuity to be able to get the upper O2 sensors off, either that, or I just didn't have the right tool.

I decided I would live with the rattle, after all, it isn't hurtting anything. After I decided this, I disconnected the midpipe right in front of the mufflers. I wanted to see what it would sound like, so I drove it around for a while, and I decided it's way, way, too loud like that. I wouldn't mind going to some cherry bombs or dyno max mufflers, especially if I knew what they sound like on my car. But yeah, for a while there, I was running Catted open headers Besides being loud, it sounded pretty damn good if you ask me.

In that commercial for dynomax, with the dog barking, and the camaro, is that really what they sound like? if so I think I might go get a couple of those mufflers

it broke my heart to read/see all of those pics of your car just get finished with the supercharger and all that, and then BOOM some major problem pops up. but glad to hear that wasnt the case. kick *** car.....besides the convertible part, im envious!! my last mustang was a convertible. dont get me wrong i loved her....but after 5 or 6 years the top started getting tears in it and stuff. sucked. anyway, get that rattle fixed!

I did away with the cats on the headers and welded in a pair ofmagnaflow hi flows ($80 a piece)on the X.Wont turn your CEL on,still have cats for inspectors,increases your flow, and sound a lot better.Not a tough job for any exhaust shop

 

i bought a pypes catted.. it was cheap, it was like 200 and bolted right up

 

Yeah, I'm actually swapping in a TKO 600, and selling the blower in favor of a couple turbo's

Dynomax makes 3 styles of mufflers, a turbo, straight through full size, and a race muffler. The race muffler is comparable to slp, the straight through full size is like regular magnaflow, and the turbo is a horribly designed inefficient muffler because of the turns inside.
