Default engine build update

well it's been awhile since i've been on here, so i figured i'd give you all an update of the 302 stroker build. had some problems with the spark plugs and cam gears. the fidanza cam gears weren't fitting right, so i sent them back and got the cam gear set from comp cams. everything worked out right with them. all that needs done is getting the cams timed and degreed. couldn't get ahold of a degreeing kit, so i just ordered one today from comp cams, so as soon as it comes in, i'll get on that and start getting the motor back into the car. the other problem i had was the spark plugs. the .708" reach spark plugs were just a smigin too long, so i just ordered a set of E3 spark plugs with a .690" reach, which should do the trick. all in all, this build has been a total PITA!! hopefully this weekend she'll be running. i still need to order my sniper tuning kit to get it running when it's ready, which i'm going to order on friday. i'm gonna wait until i get it broke in before i take it to the dyno, just to be a little safer.

You're a brave man for using adjustable cam gears... Last year when I was thinking of staying N/A I was reading up on ACG and it seems almost every thing I read was bad. Shearing and breaking with both Comp and Fidanza.

haha. ya, well i considered myself a brave man OR a complete dumbass when i decided to embark on this adventure by myself. i should have just had the motor built by a performance shop or something. nothing but headaches and stress haha. i guess it's just all about having the satisfaction of being able to say that i built it myself. i'm kind of **** about other people touching my car, you know?

I'm the same way, I'd rather muck it up myself then someone else. At least then I have no one to blame but myself.
