i think OD OFF makes your RPM's go up bc it eliminates the 4th gear?? idk something like that... notice how when you put it in O/D when ur in like 3rd gear, the RPM's shoot up about 1000?? you're getting into ur powerband quicker. so yes race with O/D off and traction off

All it does is stop you from going into 4th gear aka O/D

Some of these replies have me crackin up over here. O/D off is just that, off. It keeps the trans from shifting into overdrive..and is designed to be used when under heavy throttle at higher speeds, because overdrive isnt made for wide open throttle runs. IT doesnt increase hp or raise RPM limiters [&:]

who said it raised the RPM limiter?? i was trying to explain how if your lets say going 60mph and u hit the OD button, notice how ur RPM's will go up from like 1800-2600 or something?? its bc it is eliminating ur 4th gear...

i dont think there was anything misleading in my post if you were referring to me..

It doesn't matter. When you floor it your car will downshift to 2nd gear (or first depending on speed). Wether it is in 3rd or OD when you floor it wont make a bit of difference.

No way does an auto ever shift into first gear unless you go liek maybe below 10.
