Default The 4.10/3.73 feel

So i installed 31spline axles with diff, and 4.10 gears several weeks ago. Well i finally started to stomp around on it today, when i went on the freeway finally, as i was scared of my own work i did[8D]. And compared to my 3.73, there is a difference, but not as big of difference as alot of people hype about. Its more of like a whatever difference to me

But thats just my opinion

well Im getting some 3.93s I bealive , install kit, and royal purple gear oil, with a tuner on this mustang. I would do the work myself by here in new orleans there isn't much time to do alot of stuff! So far this mustang has the bbk pulleys and after that install it feels definatly more responsive. But a friend was telling me "mike get the 4.10s" im like "isn't that drag gears or something?" hes like "im getting them!" So I just stuck with 3.93s. Im sure there almost as good... on my 2004 mustang GT

cant wait to see what I will run in a 1/4. With the bbk pulleys, diablo tuner, cai, an perhaps a catback exhaust. Perhaps high 13s... sorry for the thread jacking...

Yeah gear install was time consuming, especially without the right tools[:@] so your getting in between the 373 410 lol Yeah it cant be that much of difference, the 373 410 isnt too much to me. and i believe you can go high 13 with that, as long as you know how to drive

4.10= Kick in the *****
3.73= Pinch on the butt

if ur the s&m type you can relate to this LMAO

going from stock to 410s is a BIG jump, and you will feel quite a gain. From stock to 3.73 is not as dramatic, so it wont be as big of a feel.
going from 3.73 to 410 is not a big jump so u barely feel anything

yeah, its just whenever people ask 3.73 or 4.10, everyone seemed to shout 4.10!! so i was expecting kind of a big difference[8D]

I actually want to keep my 3.73s for now since the shims are perfect on it for my car.

I do have another set of 3.73s thought, from what i remember they are in good condition. ill PM you with info tommrow if your interested in those.

Your kinda of missing the point, People scream big difference of 4.10s from stock gearing at 3.27. You went from 3.73s to 4.10s. I never seen anyone screaming a difference from those to... And the one guy, i believe your getting 3.90s? do they make 3.93s?

yeah true true colin, i forgot it to look at it that way

and medrick yeah your def gonna feel it

Its not hard at all if you can get enough work space. And less tools you have the more time consuming its gonna be. I didnt have all the necessary tools so it took a while and much longer than it shoul have been. But its a really straight forth process.

if you trust your workmanship, and can or have the tools, its a good learning exp i think.
