Default Pass Inspection?

I want to put an x pipe on my 04 GT but I don't think it will pass inspection with the off road x pipe but will it pass it a catted x with high flow cats?

Depends on what state. Some states just plug in to see if you are throwing any emissions codes, some do a visual inspection, some hook up a tail pipe sniffer, some just look to see that your CEL isn't on.[8D]

if ur locality does emissions then the off road x won't pass. some people on here will tell u to just slip the dude a $20 and be done with it.

but if u really want ur car to be legal, a catted x is the way to go. it will pass emissions and give the same power as the offroad (maybe 2 hp less whoop-dee-doo! )

LOL good **** there, I'm not that big on passing emissions though

Thank ya'll. I just wasn't sure going from 4 stock cats to two high flow it would read different on the computer test which is done here in Louisiana. Thank ya'll

There's some dip sh!+ on this board from NJ that when ever a thread like this comes up says he makes his own inspections stickers and says to PM for info on how to do it.

May be he'll offer his brilliant advice on this subject.

Even if you get a catted mid-pipe they have been known to trip the rear 02 sensors occasionally. And if you have to pass the sniffer, you will almost certainly fail. Most people just get an off road pipe and switch it back to stock come inspection time.

I intsalled an o/r x this year, i'm keeping my stock midpipe just in case i don't pass. if i pass with the o/r x, then i'll probably just sell the cats on the stocker.
