Default dounuts

are 2nd gear dounuts bad for your car, or just your tires?

Of course it wears your tires down, and any ripping or tearing you do toyour car puts stress on the rearend, driveshaft and transmission. I've only ripped my rearend out once and it was because I dropped the clutch on a hot summer day and the tires didnt break lose much, brokke a bunch of teeth off. lol. But, since replacing it, I havent had a problem.

we have an 8.8 axle, which is pretty strong so it can take some abuse, but i would not do it everyday for like 5 mins... i would imagine its the same stress as doing a burnout just turning the wheel and going in circles

You don't want to abuse it yet you're doing dounuts in 2nd gear....? If thats not abuse I'd had to see what you think is...

Just don't make it a weekly tradition and u should be alrite... but If I were you I'd think about upgrading my drivetrain some..

if he does it weekly he would be doing that in no time ... the 4.6 can take some abuse as long as you treat it right when you are suppose to... don't skimp on the oil changes, plug changes, etc and it will last you long time... welcome and have fun

doing DONUTS(notice the spelling) in 2nd gear is better than doing em in first. have fun with your car, do what u want. if u break it, fix it stronger and beat on it some more. i do donuts ll the damn time in second gear and my car is fine...

ive done them before but i dont do it all the time, i doubt it is really any worse on the car then doing them in 1st i meen of course your tires are going to take a brutal beating which is why i rarely do it.
