Default getting my car dyno tuned

okay so my car has been running a little rough latley. i think its from not turning the cods of from my midpipe. it feels like its in "limp mode" as i have heard some people call it.

so my question is, if i go to a dyno tuner, can he turn off my codes for my midpipe and dyno tune my car without me having my own handheld tuner?

not sure how the tuners/shops work where you live....but where i live, its like this:

they would tune your car using the x-cal. if you did not have an x-cal then the price of one would be included in your tuning cost, and you get to keep the x-cal. OR...i believe SCT also makes a chip which they would/could burn your tune into (with your 02s turned off), but like the tuner, you would also have to pay for the chip, which would prob only be about $100 less than the actual tuner/programmer itself.

the other thing i wanted to tell you is this.....if you are really convinced that the reason for your car not running as well as it should be is b/c the cel light from your x-pipe. then just order a pair of MILS's for less than $100, and they will trick your computer into thinking everything is ok, and get rid of the cel light. the cost would be much less, than a tuner plus dyno tune.

to be honest, if all of your mods are in your sig, then quite frankly you don't have enough mods to warrent a dyno tune, and should just order an X-Cal from brenspeed or something and get a canned tuned, and they will turn off your rear O2s. the other thing with MILs is that sometimes they don't work, from what i hear and have read, and that that $100 investment could be worthless. your better off just getting an X-Cal and a canned tuned at this point and not spending the money for the dyno runs, IMO

dyno is always fun, if ya got the money.....do it. at least youll have a baseline for future mods too. i love dynoes, had a couple boat motors to the dyno for runs and tuning for over half a day. was quite fun.
i know, rw dyno is different but still fun!!
