Default what kinda work

I have a 96 mustang gtwith a fully staged motor that i wrecked little while ago. the frames no good but the engine and tranny are still in great condition. what kind of work would be involved in getting a 6 clyinder mustang around the same body style or newer and pulling the engine and tranny and putting mine in? i see tons of cylinders for sale but never any 8's so is it worth it to snag up a 6 and drop my engine in and what kind of work would i have to do to go through with it?

I think the v6s come with a smaller rear (7.5). I 'm almost positive you 'd need to swap over your whole rear axle.
