Default noob engine questions

Hey I am going to be making the switch to a mustang I hope this summer. My mom has an 05 gt and I love the thing. I was wondering about some specs on the motors in the 99-04s. I herd they can hold around 400hp on stock internals. But I was wondering what would need to be done to the internals to make around 500hp I know I will need forged internals and a supercharger. Would I need it strocked or bored over though too? I had a 92 talon AWD turbo with a 2.3l strocker a full motor work done so I am not new to putting in the work or money into my cars to make them fast. The car was a constant mid to low 12s. I was just wondering what would need to be done to the mustang to lay down same times if not faster. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like someones been doing their research. No real block prep needs to be done to hit 500rwhp if you forge out and throw on a power adder like you said. You cant really bore-out these engines as cylinder walls are rather tight. Stroking the engine will not net much hp in itself either, but is an option if you want to throw down the extra $$. Depending on the mustang and year, you may want to factor in heads/intake. Good luck and keep us posted on what you get.

You're going to have a hard time making it to the 500 mark with these cars.

99-04 motors are good till about 400-450rwhp and then they start to fry. if you wanted that kind of power out of the car, the way to go would be get a forged short/longblock from MMR, MPH, DSS, etc then go for power adder. I myself like turbo power but if you want to do a supercharger, i would go with a mongoose kenne bell kit(2.8L) and crank the boost and you will have no problem making those numbers. But the turbo would be better in my opinion.

no you wont... its not hard, its just $$

all he needs is full bolt on, a good blower/intercooler setup, some god cams and maybe head work. theres ppl with just full boltons and blower/intercooler pushing the block limit...

500rwhp is nothing for a built 2v with a good blower. I should be hitting 800rwhp with my F1a when I get home.
